Job Description
Primary Therapist specializing in individual and group therapy for eating disorders. Transforming lives through innovative telehealth services with a compassionate approach.
Responsibilities:
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
- Create and update individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
- Meet with patients regularly to provide services and treatment, and to adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Coordinate and arrange for services needed for each individual client
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress
- Conduct group therapy sessions according to program schedule
- Involve and advise family members when appropriate
- Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
- Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality
- Communicate regularly with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
- Attend weekly staff meetings to consult on individual cases
- Attend weekly treatment team meetings to consult with clients about individual progress
- Create weekly individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities for clients and communicate them to patients
- Conduct concurrent insurance reviews for individual clients
- Engage in ongoing advocacy work for mental health parity
- Engage in community based speaking opportunities to increase eating disorder awareness
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
- Must be fully licensed and can work without supervision
- Able to get licensure in other states when asked
- Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Experience treating clients with Eating Disorders
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of eating disorders, trauma, mental illness, and related issues
- Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations
- Understanding of diagnostic criteria for co-occurring conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care
- Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice settings
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently
