Job Description
vCISO and privacy consultant helping U.S.-preferred clients build CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and ISO 27701 compliance programs. Providing strategic security oversight, gap analyses, roadmaps, and remediation guidance for RSI Security’s cybersecurity compliance clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development and implementation of privacy compliance frameworks including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, SOC 2 Privacy, and ISO 27701
- Conduct privacy gap analyses, assess client environments, map data flows, and outline remediation actions
- Provide strategic vCISO leadership and oversight
- Develop cybersecurity maturity roadmaps and advise on risk mitigation and incident response planning
- Assist clients with creating and refining policies and procedures
- Ensure technical documentation reflects compliance requirements and organizational standards
- Support client managers with scoping discussions, proposal contributions, and subject matter expertise
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving security frameworks, regulatory landscapes, and industry best practices
- Advise client stakeholders on privacy strategies, security controls, and data protection
Requirements:
- 5+ years of IT experience
- 3+ years specifically in vCISO advisory roles with a heavy focus on privacy regulations
- CISM, CISSP, or CISA certification required
- Deep understanding of security controls, data protection architecture, and risk management principles
- Ability to translate cloud, network, and application environments into strategic privacy and security recommendations
- Proven ability to lead advisory engagements, manage client relationships, and deliver strategic results on time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with PSA or project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Mavenlink, or similar platforms preferred
- Working knowledge of CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, SOC 2 Privacy, ISO 27701, FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST, PCI DSS, and HITRUST
- IAPP certifications such as CIPP/US or CIPM, ISO 27701 Lead Auditor certification, QSA or other audit certifications, and extensive audit experience preferred
- Based in the United States and authorized to work without requiring current or future sponsorship
- Comfortable working as a 1099 contractor in a part-time, project-based arrangement
