Job Description
VP of AI, ML, and Data Strategy at Shipium, leading data science, AI, and engineering teams. Responsible for strategy, team development, and cross-functional partnerships in a fully remote role.
Responsibilities:
- Set the multi-year strategy for ML, data, and BI
- Build and scale the Data Science / AI, Data Engineering, and BI Engineering organization
- Manage managers and tech leads
- Run performance management, career development, and retention
- Operate as a peer to VP-level leaders across various functions
- Own the architecture, deployment, and operation of the production ML
Requirements:
- 10+ years in data science, machine learning, or data engineering
- at least 5 years in a people-management or technical leadership role
- demonstrated experience building or substantially scaling a data, ML, or AI organization
- strong working knowledge of the modern ML and data stack
- ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost)
- LLM application development
- B2B SaaS, supply chain, logistics, or e-commerce experience strongly preferred
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field preferred
