Job Description

Account Director growing strategic customer accounts for Thrive’s AI-powered learning technology platform. Driving renewals, expansion, retention, and executive-level client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and expand trust-based relationships with key customer stakeholders
  • Understand client objectives, challenges, and opportunities to position Thrive solutions
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Develop account strategies supporting customer and Thrive business objectives
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Marketing on organic growth strategies
  • Proactively manage subscription-client renewals
  • Build value-based renewal propositions and mitigate renewal risks
  • Facilitate customer de-escalation and return-to-health plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to solve customer challenges and risks
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Customer Support
  • Develop deep knowledge of Thrive solutions and future innovations
  • Track account health, adoption, engagement, and success metrics with Customer Success
  • Use data insights to identify trends, opportunities, and improvements
  • Monitor industry trends, competition, and emerging technologies
  • Propose and drive Account Management process improvements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Account Executive or in a quota-carrying, closing sales role
  • Genuine desire to move client-side into account management and long-term relationship ownership
  • At least 5 years' experience selling or working with LMS/learning technology is essential
  • Demonstrated success balancing revenue and retention targets and driving customer satisfaction
  • Experience managing risk and escalation with a matrix team
  • Customer-centric approach and understanding of the customer lifecycle
  • Interest in customer challenges, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • Organised, methodical, agile, and adaptable to changing priorities and requirements
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and highly self-motivated
  • Confident and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to drive accountability and execute actions across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ability to map account lists to identify expansion opportunities
  • Strong negotiation and consultative selling skills
  • Experience managing pipeline, forecasting, and closing
