Job Description

Account Director leading integrated, cross-channel DTC marketing campaigns at Rain, a national creative and media agency. Managing client strategy, campaign performance, budgets, and Client Services teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary client contact and strategic partner
  • Lead cross-functional teams across media, analytics, strategy, creative, web development, finance, and project management
  • Own integrated campaign strategy and execution from briefs and planning through performance evaluation and optimization
  • Establish goals, budgets, KPIs, and priorities with clients and internal teams
  • Develop understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to expand agency scope and develop solutions with agency subject-matter experts
  • Lead client meetings and present performance, creative, strategic, and financial recommendations
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and align with client objectives
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and overall client health
  • Drive seamless execution across media, analytics, strategy, creative, and other agency disciplines
  • Identify dependencies and bottlenecks and resolve them before they become client-facing issues
  • Evaluate performance, identify insights, and drive testing and optimization decisions
  • Build testing roadmaps for creative, audience, and channel mix
  • Collaborate with channel leads on reporting, learnings, trends, creative fatigue signals, and next steps
  • Translate technical details into clear, client-ready recommendations tied to business goals
  • Partner with senior leadership to address performance, financial, and staffing needs
  • Monitor account profitability and scope creep and support budget and SOW conversations
  • Lead, coach, and develop Client Services team members
  • Foster collaboration, cross-functional relationships, efficient workflows, and an accountable team culture

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of advertising agency experience, preferably in media and/or creative
  • 1–3+ years of management or mentorship experience
  • Proven success leading integrated, cross-channel strategies and building strong client relationships
  • Strong understanding of full-funnel media, performance marketing, and associated KPIs
  • Experience with digital media, including Paid Social, Paid Search, Video, Programmatic, and CTV
  • Traditional media experience, including Linear, Audio, and OOH
  • Experience working with DTC brands and leading strategic creative development
  • Ability to build pivots and conduct sales and performance data analysis
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel and support clients beyond standard hours when needed
  • Website strategy and development management experience is a plus
  • Chicago-area residence is a plus
