Job Description

Agile Product Owner managing EDI 27X product backlogs and user stories for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. Driving healthcare technology projects, Scrum delivery, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans with key business and IT partners for technologies impacting the company
  • Deliver methodology, process policies, practices, guidance, and tools to the organization
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate projects within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog and user stories
  • Create business user stories and decompose features into non-technical user stories
  • Partner with the Scrum Master to support the Scrum Framework
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer and product needs
  • Represent the voice of the business to the team
  • Represent capabilities and features at team level with project managers
  • Ensure traceability from requirements to features to user stories
  • Review test cases against user story acceptance criteria
  • Re-prioritize the product backlog based on customer feedback, market changes, and business priorities
  • Participate in backlog grooming, retrospectives, defect management, and release planning
  • Support the team during sprint planning and Daily Scrum and answer questions
  • Own and deliver acceptance criteria for business-value user stories
  • Create and deliver presentations
  • Lead, instruct, direct, and check other team members' work
  • Provide input for team member performance reviews
  • Formally accept user stories when acceptance criteria are met
  • Assist with project support and resource planning
  • Facilitate or create procedures and processes supporting advancing technologies or capabilities
  • Evaluate project information and forecast required work effort
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are met
  • Provide peer-level review and mentoring
  • Participate in corporate quality and data governance programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in healthcare or insurance with emphasis on Business Analysis and/or computer technology including EDI
  • 2 years of experience communicating with diverse groups inside and outside the business
  • 3 years of experience decomposing high-level initiative information and forecasting required work effort
  • High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study
  • Achievement of agile product owner certification within 12 months of placement
  • Real time EDI 27X experience
  • Intermediate PC proficiency
  • Intermediate proficiency in spreadsheet, database, project management, and word processing software
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with business requirements, user acceptance testing, and supporting toolsets
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Suites, Windows Server, and networking applications
  • Strong understanding of project management, agile best practices, and quality improvement principles
  • Intermediate understanding of IT technologies
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities and time constraints
  • Verbal and written communication skills for interaction with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Systems research and analysis; ability to write and present business documentation
  • Experience working with and managing third parties
  • Knowledge of business requirements development and user acceptance testing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Analytical knowledge to generate reports and make decisions based on reported data
