Job Description

Remote AI Engineer building LLM, RAG, vector-search, and agent systems for Hire Hangar’s global clients. Integrating models into production applications and collaborating across US time zones.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build AI-powered features, pipelines, and automation workflows from scratch
  • Integrate and fine-tune LLMs, embedding models, and other ML systems into production applications
  • Develop and maintain RAG pipelines, vector search systems, and agent-based architectures
  • Write clean, well-structured code across backend and API layers
  • Evaluate, benchmark, and iterate on model outputs for quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope requirements and architect AI solutions
  • Stay current with the AI landscape and introduce relevant tooling and approaches
  • Document technical designs, system behaviour, and deployment processes

Requirements:

  • Strong Python programming skills and software engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Mistral via APIs and SDKs
  • Practical experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and prompt engineering
  • Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar agent frameworks
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and third-party service/data-source integrations
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Prior remote work experience and fluency with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, or Asana
  • Ideally prior experience with US- or UK-based companies; applications without required remote experience will not be considered
  • Experience with model fine-tuning, RLHF, or custom training workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with MLOps tooling and deployment pipelines preferred
  • Exposure to multimodal systems preferred
  • Data engineering or large-scale structured/unstructured data experience preferred
  • Open-source AI contributions or public AI portfolio preferred
  • Ability to work US time zones (EST–PST)
  • Fluent English proficiency required by the application process
