Job Description
Area Business Manager leading Zoetis diagnostics sales teams across California, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Coaching colleagues, driving sales performance, and managing regional business strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop colleagues in the assigned area
- Demonstrate solution coaching capabilities
- Direct Diagnostics Sales Consultants and Diagnostic Technical Specialists to meet management objectives
- Recruit, hire, coach, evaluate, differentiate, and retain talent
- Spend 75% of available time on field-coaching days
- Meet or exceed Diagnostics business sales objectives and quotas
- Lead launches of new products, services, and equipment
- Improve growth rates, area-business health, leverage, and analytical insight usage
- Develop annual strategic business plans for individual territories and the overall area
- Coordinate and allocate marketing resources
- Handle operating expenses, performance management, reviews, and other administrative/reporting duties
- Attend and participate in product launches and regional/area sales meetings
- Engage in special projects and other duties assigned by the Regional Business Director or headquarters management
- Travel throughout the designated geography, potentially including overnight stays
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree (BS/BA)
- Minimum of 3 years people leader/management experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, business management and computer skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team-based environment and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments
- Ability to use analytics and insights for decision-making and tactical execution
- Ability to manage assigned expense budgets
- Animal Health experience and knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine
- Diagnostic experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a close team environment
- Ability and willingness to accept and incorporate feedback
- Verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful/fair decisions
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn Zoetis systems
- Ability/willingness to travel extensively (50–60%)
- All applicants must possess or obtain authorization to work in the US for Zoetis
