Job Description

Area Sales Manager selling Scientia Vascular’s neurovascular and peripheral vascular technologies in Houston. Managing territory sales, hospital relationships, customer support, and product launches.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve within the Sales organization, reporting directly to the assigned Area Sales Director
  • Manage sales and customer support in the assigned territory
  • Meet assigned territory sales objectives
  • Develop relationships with physician customers and hospital personnel
  • Support the region as needed to ensure growth goals are achieved
  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities and sales potential by account
  • Establish and achieve annual sales objectives
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics based on products, competition, and pricing needs
  • Analyze the territory and identify key target accounts
  • Monitor competitive activities and gather current marketplace information
  • Collaborate on contracts, pricing, and vendor documentation requirements for hospital and institutional customers
  • Implement and execute launch strategies developed by the Vice President of Sales
  • Provide product introductions and in-services for customers
  • Maintain clinical and technical expertise through training, workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies
  • Prepare and submit reports to sales management using territory sales, customer data, and sales projections
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within hospitals and Scientia leadership
  • Comply with company, hospital/institution, and Advised guidelines for compliance and professional conduct
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Healthcare Degree (such as NP, RN, or RT)
  • Five or more years of sales experience in the medical device industry, specifically interventional devices and preferably within the neurovascular market
  • In lieu of previous interventional sales experience, at least five years of job experience in a clinical setting involving interventional peripheral vascular or neurovascular devices
  • Proficiency using CRM tools; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Must be able to complete all credentialing requirements for access to specific hospitals/institutions in the assigned region/territory and stay current with overall and account-specific requirements
  • Credentialing requirements include criminal background, drug screen, and national sex offender registry checks
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass standard pre-employment screens including background check with MVR and drug test
  • Must live in the Houston Territory
