Job Description
Area Sales Manager expanding GLS’s affordable auto-financing programs through automotive dealer relationships. Growing market share via dealer acquisition, education, travel, and account development.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a company ambassador to automotive dealers within the assigned market area
- Expand company market share by signing new dealers
- Develop existing dealer relationships
- Increase awareness and adoption of the company’s lending programs
- Educate dealers on all aspects of the company lending programs and how to maximize their value
- Partner with operational teams to capture quality business and increase program utilization
- Identify and sign new dealerships to build and expand the assigned territory
- Make regular dealer visits, cold calls, and take inbound dealership calls
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and dealer retention
- Complete and submit documentation to track and assess established goals
- Work with associates and management to achieve business plan objectives
- Participate in special projects and perform additional assignments as required
Requirements:
- Three (3) years’ experience in auto finance with sub-prime auto financing experience preferred
- Three (3) years’ experience in sales with auto industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of the local market with established customer relationships preferred
- Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others, manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, manage sensitive and confidential information, interact at all organizational levels, and build cross-functional partnerships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of the internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to quickly learn new computer applications
- Commitment to exemplifying organizational core values and key competencies
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to operate from a home office
- Extensive travel capability, including vehicle and air travel, with travel expected 75% of the time, overnight travel, and extended hours
