Job Description

Area Sales Manager expanding GLS’s affordable auto-financing programs through automotive dealer relationships. Growing market share via dealer acquisition, education, travel, and account development.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a company ambassador to automotive dealers within the assigned market area
  • Expand company market share by signing new dealers
  • Develop existing dealer relationships
  • Increase awareness and adoption of the company’s lending programs
  • Educate dealers on all aspects of the company lending programs and how to maximize their value
  • Partner with operational teams to capture quality business and increase program utilization
  • Identify and sign new dealerships to build and expand the assigned territory
  • Make regular dealer visits, cold calls, and take inbound dealership calls
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and dealer retention
  • Complete and submit documentation to track and assess established goals
  • Work with associates and management to achieve business plan objectives
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional assignments as required

Requirements:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in auto finance with sub-prime auto financing experience preferred
  • Three (3) years’ experience in sales with auto industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the local market with established customer relationships preferred
  • Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others, manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, manage sensitive and confidential information, interact at all organizational levels, and build cross-functional partnerships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of the internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer applications
  • Commitment to exemplifying organizational core values and key competencies
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate from a home office
  • Extensive travel capability, including vehicle and air travel, with travel expected 75% of the time, overnight travel, and extended hours
