Job Description

IT Support Specialist providing application support for Thrivent, a membership-owned financial services organization. Troubleshooting incidents, validating systems, and supporting users and IT partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first on-call support for supported software applications
  • Assist with validation, maintenance, and project work for supported systems
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues with supported systems
  • Register and classify incidents and promptly restore or analyze failed IT services
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more senior support
  • Provide data to users, business partners, and IT partners to resolve major incidents and problems
  • Perform function and data validations for supported software applications
  • Ensure technology readiness and appropriate solutions for business needs
  • Provide troubleshooting and incident management for supported applications or processes
  • Document incident resolutions and procedures
  • Install software and computer peripherals for users
  • Provide work direction to junior members
  • May lead or participate in ITIL roles and processes

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, mathematics, or a related field
  • Typically less than 2 years of applicable experience
  • Understanding of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, and networking equipment
  • Understanding of Thrivent’s technology capabilities
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, mathematics, or a related field
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a technology-related field
  • Skills in learning agility, service orientation, collaboration, analytical thinking, technology architecture, and technology standards, procedures, and policies
  • Strong customer service, facilitation, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Project leadership and interpersonal skills, including active listening and customer care
