Job Description
Benefits Calculation Analyst calculating disability offsets, overpayments, and claim recoveries for Manulife, an international financial services provider. Supporting plan members through repayment discussions using Navigator.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and code offsets and adjusted Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits in Navigator
- Inform plan members of overpayment amounts with clear verbal and written explanations
- Follow up with plan members for reimbursement of overpayments
- Negotiate acceptable repayment plans when necessary
- Process claim recoveries in Navigator
- Deliver value and support customers as part of the National Life, Disability & Wellness Team
Requirements:
- Strong customer service focus and ability to be empathetic while delivering difficult messages
- Experience in disability benefit calculations
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Capacity for constant learning from success and failure
- Openness to change and continuous improvement
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
- If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in English and French is required to support clients from various provinces outside Québec
- Experience with Navigator is an asset
