Job Description
Remote Biller capturing WCNF EDI charges and submitting healthcare claims for Med-Metrix. Reviewing referrals, correcting billing data, and resolving payer payment delays.
Responsibilities:
- Review referrals to ensure all charges for each date of service have been captured
- Complete charge corrections in the billing system based on office documentation
- Meet and maintain daily productivity and quality standards
- Adhere to client/team policies and procedures
- Verify and correct patient demographics in the host system
- Verify proper authorizations are entered
- Analyze, identify, and resolve issues causing payer payment delays
- Maintain confidentiality and a professional attitude
- Use, protect, and disclose patients’ protected health information only in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures
- Limit viewing of PHI to the minimum necessary to perform assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in Hospital/Facility or Physician billing: preferred
- Experience with EPIC preferred
- Basic knowledge of healthcare claims submissions and processing
- Knowledge of various types of insurance plans, CPT, ICD-10, and billing guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress
- Ability to operate computers, computer peripherals, telephones, and other office equipment
