Job Description

Business Development Director expanding SEI’s RIA wealth-management business in Chicago. Driving advisor acquisition, territory growth, and adoption of custody, technology, and investment solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development and territory management for predominantly SEC-registered RIA firms in SEI’s Wealth and Advisor Business
  • Coordinate with the partner Account Executive on territory strategy planning and growth
  • Lead and mentor the junior Sales professional
  • Deliver SEI’s ecosystem of custody, technology, and investment management solutions
  • Drive net new business growth
  • Analyze market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behavior to optimize client and territory growth
  • Penetrate existing firm clients with broader SEI solutions to increase share of wallet
  • Influence the development and acquisition of new advisor-client relationships throughout the buying journey
  • Shape and implement sophisticated, diverse, and collaborative growth agendas
  • Motivate prospective clients to embrace change and transition business
  • Generate new interest and prospective-client leads
  • Manage inorganic leads through the sales process
  • Proactively engage clients and prospective clients through in-person and online meetings, telephone, email, and in-person and virtual presentations
  • Drive sales agendas and support advisor-client engagement health
  • Educate and persuade clients on SEI’s solutions across custody, technology, asset management, and business-centric offerings
  • Report directly to the Managing Director
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Service organizations
  • Manage the Chicago, Illinois territory

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services client sales and service support
  • Direct experience in RIA channel sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Current NASAA Series 65 or Series 66 license, or ability to acquire within 90 days
  • Advanced knowledge of the advisor market, particularly the RIA channel
  • Strong knowledge of RIA custody and technology platforms
  • Strong network of relationships in the RIA community
  • Direct experience influencing business owners in the RIA channel
  • Experience delivering custody/technology and business-centric advice and influence
  • Extensive experience with multi-channel communication, including face-to-face, in-person and virtual presentations, live and recorded video, phone, and email
  • Ability to influence decision-making at the highest organizational levels
  • Established background in consultative sales
  • Record of performance in territory management, including strategic planning, execution, and travel
  • Outstanding time-management, organizational, and mentoring skills
  • Track record of exceeding goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record in client relationship management and buyer satisfaction
  • Up to 80% travel potential
