Job Description

Business Development Manager leading Mandarin-speaking representatives for Toast’s restaurant technology platform. Building qualified pipeline and expanding strategic cuisine markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, build, and coach a multilingual team of Business Development Representatives
  • Directly manage 6–10 Business Development Representatives and own their productivity and pipelines
  • Coach representatives on discovery, qualification, and solution positioning in Mandarin for the Mandarin-speaking segment
  • Build systems, peer-review structures, and outcome-based feedback loops for team development
  • Run 1:1s, call reviews, pipeline inspections, and disciplined forecasting
  • Partner with Strategic Cuisines Account Executives on clean handoffs and converting pipeline
  • Gather frontline feedback and help determine resource investment across strategic cuisine markets
  • Improve funnel efficiency for each market
  • Work with Enablement and Marketing to adapt messaging and sequences
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new representatives, including coverage for new languages
  • Develop team members toward Strategic Cuisines Account Executive roles and beyond
  • Report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Cuisines

Requirements:

  • Must fluently speak, read, and write Mandarin Chinese and English
  • 2+ years of sales experience in a closing role
  • Proven track record of quota attainment
  • Strong forecasting and pipeline rigor
  • Metrics-driven approach to sales performance
  • Cultural humility and curiosity about diverse communities and selling contexts
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, creative, and flexible
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Leadership experience, multilingual or multicultural team experience, additional languages, BDR/SDR experience, fast-paced growth environment experience, restaurant industry experience, and winning-culture experience are nice-to-haves/nonessential
