Job Description

Business Development Representative expanding Smart Start alcohol-monitoring and ignition-interlock sales across Denver Metro. Building influencer partnerships, referral pipelines, and territory growth through field-based selling.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Director of Business Development
  • Establish, develop, and maintain in-person relationships with current and prospective influencers
  • Generate new sales through proactive outreach, territory planning, and relationship cultivation
  • Expand product market share by identifying and developing referral sources
  • Evaluate influencer needs and build long-term partnerships that generate leads
  • Provide technical expertise and consultative support to government officials and referral partners
  • Educate partners on product functionality, reporting platforms, and compliance features
  • Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and state-level meetings
  • Serve as a territory expert on state regulations, impaired driving laws, ignition interlock requirements, and alcohol monitoring standards
  • Develop and execute competitive sales strategies for local market dynamics
  • Gather market intelligence to maintain Smart Start's competitive advantage
  • Maintain proficiency in Smart Start products, CRM systems, and monitoring platforms
  • Conduct consistent face-to-face meetings to strengthen referral pipelines and territory growth

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales or business development
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and utilize breath alcohol testing devices continually
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree highly preferred
  • Approximately 80% of time spent in the field
  • Approximately 40% overnight travel, including occasional weekend travel
  • Above-average computer proficiency
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • CRM and proprietary software system experience
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, conferences, and state-level meetings
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable
