Job Description
Business information specialist leading governed data architecture, integration, ETL, and analytics solutions. Supporting TD’s global banking operations through data governance, quality, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide business technical leadership across information management functions supporting data and analytics
- Independently lead and manage analysis, design and support of business data management solutions
- Analyze, design and develop data repositories, warehouses, marts, data movement, data wrangling, data mapping and ETL processes
- Support data solutions, applications, platforms and tools used by data scientists and analytics teams
- Develop data preparation frameworks and architecture for data scientist consumption
- Support data modeling capabilities for business data consumption
- Support business teams in using and understanding data and reporting solutions
- Develop data road maps, information management strategies and technical solutions for integrating, transforming and managing data
- Drive complex, data-centric solution development
- Adopt the Enterprise Data model in alignment with OCDO and data and analytics groups
- Solicit, analyze and understand data requirements to develop information management solutions
- Develop complete business solutions including data models, business rules, lifecycle management, governance, lineage, metadata and reporting elements
- Apply automation and innovation to data platforms and development initiatives
- Design and implement complex business data information management frameworks
- Collaborate with technology and business partners to resolve issues and meet SLAs
- Provide expert guidance, data impact assessments and data risk mitigation
- Implement data standards and quality processes
- Maintain knowledge of upstream data sources and platform data
- Identify critical data elements supporting governance and data management programs
- Perform data profiling using TD tools and query languages
- Resolve data issues, investigate root causes and support data users
- Lead knowledge transfer and data expertise activities
- Conduct functional or enterprise analysis and make recommendations
- Monitor emerging trends and regulatory requirements and assess impacts
- Participate in cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Mentor others and contribute to team development
- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- 7+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background
- Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools and technologies used in preparing summaries and reports
- Analytical and problem solving skills to interpret data and draw conclusions
- Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
- Skill in analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
- Skill in mentoring/coaching others
- Skill in computer applications including MS Office
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to contribute to strategic direction and advise senior leadership
- Experience with Cloud Staging Zones (SRZ) and Curated Zones (CZ) preferred
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- CCUL and/or TD Data knowledge preferred
- SQL preferred
