Job Description
CAD Technician creating and managing 2D/3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp at Wells. Responsible for CNC programming and ensuring efficient production workflows in manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and manage 2D/3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- CNC programming using Fusion 360, V-Carve (preferred).
- Interpret engineering and Architectural drawings and specifications to create accurate mold types.
- Organize and optimize master molds for efficient production and pouring processes.
- Collaborate with multiple manufacturing plants to ensure models are correctly adapted for each job.
- Develop layouts and workflows that maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design changes and production plans to ensure this is passed on to the CNC and production teams.
- Coordinating with the CNC programming team, providing guidance and technical support.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machining principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Ability to convert designs into production-ready models or CNC programs.
- Ability to maintain and manage accurate technical documentation and drawings.
- Understanding of general manufacturing processes and production workflows.
