Job Description
Part-time Cardiac Device Specialist analyzing and reprogramming pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders for Allegheny Health Network. Supporting cardiology telemonitoring, patient follow-up, education, and EKG testing.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interrogate pacemakers, ICDs, and implantable loop recorders across cardiology practices
- Support the telemonitoring program by reviewing data and maintaining the software application
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of pacemaker equipment
- Analyze and re-program pacemakers using various programs
- Perform independent quarterly transtelephonic pacemaker checks
- Manage all data through the software application
- Reprogram devices as ordered by physicians
- Maintain follow-up appointments for pacemaker and ICD patients
- Conduct family and patient education on pacemaker/ICD care
- Perform EKGs as needed
- Perform other assigned or required duties
Requirements:
- Minimum associate degree
- One or more years of related experience and training
- 1 year of experience as a Senior Monitor technician
- Preferred: 1 year in the electrophysiology field
- BLS certification
- Knowledge and understanding of pacemaker equipment
- Ability to analyze and re-program pacemakers
- Ability to perform quarterly transtelephonic pacemaker checks
- Ability to use and maintain telemonitoring software applications
- Ability to perform EKGs
