Job Description

Remote Coating Advisor supporting marine coating applications, inspections, and technical training for Hempel, a global coatings supplier. Traveling extensively to jobsites and collaborating with sales and technical teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to sales teams, customers and stakeholders
  • Perform physical inspections and condition surveys
  • Oversee product application activities as needed
  • Conduct technical analysis of product specifications
  • Conduct technical training and presentations
  • Prepare and present technical briefings for customer and company representatives
  • Prepare inspection reports using digital reporting software
  • Evaluate sales proposals for technical accuracy and consistency with quality and performance standards
  • Travel to jobsites when dispatched or assigned projects
  • Advise customers and applicators on proper use and application of Hempel products
  • Communicate product features and benefits as a brand and product ambassador
  • Ensure compliance with Product Data Sheets, guide specifications, technical and industrial standards, procedures, and best painting/application practices
  • Collect and record data; prepare work progress reports including testing, analysis, and interpretation
  • Provide onsite training to coatings applicators and Hempel Sales teams
  • Educate customers about coating solution performance and Technical Services value
  • Generate and distribute company and customer reports using corporate reporting tools
  • Use PPE and technical equipment responsibly; ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and in good condition
  • Monitor and manage project paint inventory and provide updates to Sales teams
  • Participate in Technical Services strategy activities, surveys, troubleshooting, and resolution finding
  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Customer Care, and other internal functions

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Coating Industry
  • Marine coating experience
  • English business proficiency (oral and written)
  • MS Office basic level
  • General computer literacy
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 80%, domestic and international) and work flexible schedules
  • Spanish an advantage
  • NACE certification is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
