Job Description
Commercial account manager servicing Midwest small-business insurance clients for EPIC Brokers. Processing policies, managing renewals, negotiating coverage, and supporting producers remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Process applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audits, incoming mail, schedules, and other client-servicing items
- Assist clients with policy coverage, exclusions, coverage changes, and related questions
- Service client accounts under the oversight of Producers or Account Executives
- Research and analyze coverage and policy/contractual issues
- Conduct renewals, including exposure analysis, market comparisons, quote evaluation, and premium and commission negotiations
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and technical sales support materials
- Oversee insurance binder accuracy
- Maintain client files and document activity in the Agency Management System
- Prepare billing, invoices, and monthly expirations
- Establish and maintain client relationships and resolve questions and issues
- Determine marketing strategy with the Sales Team, including coverage, target pricing, and marketing decisions
- Submit applications with supporting documentation and follow up on quotes and policies
- Refer clients to EPIC Employee Benefits and Private Client Departments
- Set priorities and manage workflow
- Maintain documentation, records, proposals, workflow logs, and manuals
- Stay informed about industry information, products, programs, coverages, legislation, and technology
- Resolve problems and enhance service in a timely manner
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 2 (two) or more years experience in mid-size brokerage or carrier
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Fire and Casualty Broker License
- Valid Driver License
- Full knowledge of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services
- Experience with Agency Management Systems and rating procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Internet navigation, Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
- Strong multitasking and prioritization ability
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills
