Job Description
Trailer storage product manager managing Ryder’s rental, surplus, and Coop assets. Driving profitability, compliance, customer satisfaction, and nationwide storage-trailer market growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the trailer storage product line strategy, pricing, and operating metric performance for rental, surplus, and Coop assets
- Ensure the storage application of the trailer fleet is productive and profitable
- Collaborate with regional Directors, Rental Account Managers, and Rental Managers overseeing customers and equipment
- Manage assigned profitability metrics and represent Ryder at internal and external meetings as requested
- Implement the product's strategic direction, including information technology, process changes, and labor planning
- Balance customer needs with financial, operating, quality, and safety targets
- Work with sales and marketing to profitably grow nationwide market share in trailer sales for storage use
- Achieve profitability goals by working with assigned regional staff and facilitate needed resources
- Support trailer fleet appearance, maintenance, inventory management, policies, procedures, utilization, and return on investment
- Ensure delivery of promised services and customer satisfaction through maintenance and rental commitments
- Ensure quality inspections of preventive maintenance and repairs, quality-audit corrective actions, and continuous-improvement programs
- Oversee documentation required for local, state, federal, and customer requirements
- Ensure a safe workplace and guide safety efforts and initiatives
- Comply with safety, state, and EPA regulations and requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in BBA, Business, Operations, or Engineering, Required
- 3 years or more in Product Management, Transportation Operations management, or a role with solution focus; experience in strategic development, financial analysis, and operating metric performance management, Required
- 3 years or more in Labor Planning or Process Engineering, Preferred
- Ability to professionally represent Ryder and competently interact with customer management, Required
- Capacity to understand labor, financial, operating, quality, safety, and asset processes and related metrics, Required
- Strong sense of personal accountability and proven track record of achieving desired results, Required
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and across all organizational levels, Required
- Competent in basic computer skills and a Microsoft Office environment, Required
- Ability to influence without authority across the organization, Required
- Ability to work with reporting systems to pull data for analysis and decision making, Preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of the diesel trucking industry, Preferred
- Ability to understand financial statements and operating metrics, Required
