Job Description
Community Events Team Lead Intern advancing ONC’s nonpartisan civic dialogue through speaker series, campus outreach, and networking events. Leading remote interns and coordinating event operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Community Events interns, set clear expectations, and promote accountability and collaboration
- Delegate assignments, monitor progress, and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
- Take initiative to resolve challenges, improve workflows, and keep remote operations running smoothly
- Maintain organized Slack communication, project updates, and shared calendars
- Lead weekly Community Department meetings and follow up on action items
- Oversee speaker series, campus outreach, ONC booths, and networking opportunities
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Events, COO, and CEO on the College Campus Initiative and ONC College Chapters
- Guide outreach to speakers, mentors, experts, ONC advisors, college clubs, and campus representatives
- Coordinate event scheduling, speaker confirmations, Zoom setup, Eventbrite listings, and attendee communications
- Partner with other ONC departments on event promotion and execution
- Support onboarding, coach interns, and provide constructive feedback
- Report team progress, resource needs, and escalated challenges to leadership
- Gather event feedback and recommend improvements
Requirements:
- Management or leadership experience through work, internships, student organizations, volunteer programs, or team projects
- Interest in event management, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership
- Study in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field is preferred
- Confident leading a team, delegating work, and holding members accountable professionally
- Energetic, dedicated, and proactive, with strong ownership and follow-through
- Strong organizational and time management skills across multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Responsive, consistent, and effective communication, including during conflict
- Ability to lead remotely, collaborate effectively, and work independently
- Sound judgment in resolving issues and involving leadership when needed
- Comfort using Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace
- Eventbrite experience preferred
- Ability to attend weekly organization-wide meetings and lead weekly Community Department meetings
- Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
- Submit a one-page cover letter describing leadership experience and interest in the role
- Must commit through the end of the current semester
