Job Description

First-line compliance manager supporting Griffin’s regulated fintech banking platform. Advising product, sales and operations teams through launches, lifecycle governance and regulatory change.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise operations, commercial and product teams on first-line compliance
  • Translate regulation into product requirements, customer journeys, terms and conditions and fair value assessments
  • Support products from initial idea through approval and launch
  • Manage product lifecycle compliance through fair value assessments, outcome monitoring, reviews, changes and closures
  • Assess prospective partners against risk appetite and review sales materials
  • Review Griffin’s and customers’ marketing materials for regulatory and internal-policy compliance
  • Build regulatory requirements into daily Service operations, procedures and controls
  • Interpret regulatory change and coordinate timely implementation
  • Investigate and remediate compliance issues
  • Report clearly on compliance risks and customer outcomes
  • Work closely with second-line Protect, provide evidence and respond to challenge
  • Guide major launches such as card issuing from initial concept to go-live

Requirements:

  • Compliance experience in the first or second line of a UK regulated firm, ideally a bank, e-money institution or payments firm
  • Practical knowledge of Consumer Duty, BCOBS, CASS, FISMA, the Payment Services Regulations and the Money Laundering Regulations
  • Experience turning regulation into practical requirements for product, sales or operations teams
  • Comfortable interpreting and applying FCA rules to new situations
  • Curious, questioning approach
  • Confidence to challenge clearly and kindly
  • Strong writing ability and commitment to clarity and readability
  • Deep expertise in at least one specialist area such as payments, cards, Consumer Duty, BCOBS or financial promotions
  • Experience in finance or banking is ideal
  • Successful candidate must complete satisfactory background screening, including right-to-work, criminal record, credit history, social media and professional reference checks
