Job Description

Controller managing financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and compliance for dmarcian, a global DMARC cybersecurity company. Preparing forecasts and supporting finance operations in an Americas-timezone remote-first environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle multiple time-sensitive tasks from Business Unit Directors, New Business Teams, Operations, Account Managers, and customers
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts monthly
  • Handle monthly payroll transactions
  • Create periodic reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Perform audits and resolve discrepancies
  • Calculate and track company financial statements
  • Communicate billing concern summaries to leadership to improve operational procedures
  • Participate in workflow improvements and integrate new process features
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial data
  • Provide month/quarter close activities, including revenue deferrals, write-offs, and manual journal entries
  • Present data to the organization
  • Compute taxes and reports for tax filings
  • Keep informed about current finance and accounting legislation
  • Assist management with decisions by preparing budgets and financial forecasts
  • Initiate or participate in vendor research and screening
  • Uphold superior support within the Finance Circle and educate the team on finance/accounting compliance trends and updates

Requirements:

  • Some experience in accounting
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience preferred, or something interchangeable
  • Accounting Degree or equivalent certification
  • Extensive QuickBooks experience
  • International transaction experience highly preferred
  • General support ticket software and CRM knowledge highly preferred
  • Technical systems exposure nice to have
  • Intrinsically motivated and organized
  • High standard of ethics, including familiarity with PII ethics through GDPR and/or HIPAA
  • Comfortable working within Help Scout, Xero, QuickBooks, Pipedrive, Chargebee, PandaDoc, Google Suite, third-party invoicing sites, Slack, and other computer programs
  • Ability to comply with company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations
  • Ability to work within Americas timezones
