Job Description

Credit Manager leading remote credit operations, collections, and risk management for US Foods, a major foodservice distributor. Managing teams, KPIs, process improvements, and strategic credit initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead through the credit function and collaborate and negotiate with leaders at all levels
  • Administer and implement credit policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee credit risk investigations, approve credit terms and limit extensions, and manage complex larger accounts
  • Manage an Accounts Receivable portfolio of 5,000 customers and $50MM in annual revenue
  • Serve as primary Credit liaison to the Area President and team
  • Collaborate with an offshore management partner and oversee process reviews, inquiries, and guidance
  • Participate in monthly performance reviews and conduct formal performance appraisals
  • Ensure training protocols and standardized shared-services processes are delivered
  • Coach credit leadership team members and develop talent
  • Set and review quantitative and qualitative expectations
  • Meet with Territory Managers and Area teams to discuss credit expectations
  • Attend District and General Sales meetings and build collaborative networks
  • Handle escalations according to established matrices and best practices
  • Manage all facets of collection and approve credit applications within policy limits
  • Coach underperforming associates and implement Process Improvement Plans as needed
  • Oversee Supervisor functions and onboarding
  • Standardize credit processes and leverage automation to improve workflow efficiency and quality
  • Deliver technology- and process-focused projects aligned with the strategic roadmap
  • Conduct role effectiveness reviews and manage internal/external customer surveys
  • Research and analyze data, identify trends and issues, and develop recommendations
  • Drive operational efficiencies through quality performance, training initiatives, and associate scheduling
  • Build, track, and share standard KPIs
  • Participate in annual budgeting and drive financial fitness
  • Define talent strategy, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning
  • Develop technology roadmaps and benchmarking initiatives
  • Create and present business cases including budgets, resources, and ROI
  • Maintain an Individual Development Plan and participate in US Foods’ performance management process
  • Lead a team of up to 18 associates, including 1–3 direct reports and 15 Managed Services associates

Requirements:

  • 4 years’ experience supervising and leading onsite and remote associates required
  • 5 years’ experience working in Finance or Credit/Collections required
  • 5 years’ experience using web-based and mainframe systems required
  • Experience facilitating presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience developing, tracking, and utilizing KPIs to identify process improvements
  • Intermediate MS Office skills required
  • Highly proficient Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Proficiency using web-based and mainframe systems; Data Warehouse databases, SharePoint, and Salesforce preferred
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion techniques
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-resolution abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and situations and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Ability to manage the credit function for multiple Areas
  • Ability to build collaborative networks and share best practices
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Ability to provide thoughtful leadership to internal customers and connect externally with customers
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Credit Business Associate (CBA) Certification desired
  • Food service or similar distribution experience desired
