Job Description
Data Engineer building scalable Python, Spark, and Airflow pipelines for Sayari’s commercial world model. Transforming global trade records into AI-powered economic security and risk intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow for data acquisition and entity resolution engines
- Collaborate with AI/ML and Product teams to implement new features and AI-native products
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in complex ETL processes
- Refine and optimize the existing codebase
- Participate in code reviews and unit testing
- Communicate design decisions clearly
- Own end-to-end delivery of roadmap tasks within two-week sprints
- Ensure work meets quality, documentation, and performance standards
- Participate in roadmap planning and story refinement
- Eventually own major product-defensibility epics
Requirements:
- Professional proficiency in Python
- Experience with Git shared-codebase workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews
- 3+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or BigQuery
- Interest in or familiarity with graph databases
- Familiarity with distributed computing using Spark, or strong desire to master it
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile, sprint-based environment
- Ability to move tasks from assigned to complete with high autonomy and clear communication
