Job Description
Data Engineering Intern building scalable ELT pipelines and data models at Super.com, a consumer fintech platform. Ensuring data quality, governance, and operational reliability for high-volume datasets.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable and highly available data pipelines
- Build highly reliable and scalable ELT pipelines for large datasets
- Work on data-intensive applications
- Ensure high data quality and uptime
- Work directly with analysts on a full-stack data team
- Maintain and improve warehouse governance
- Implement improvements in platform operations
- Build and maintain pipelines ingesting large amounts of data from various sources
- Write automated tests to ensure operational reliability and data integrity
- Create data models for analytical and marketing purposes from time to time
- Collaborate with full-time developers on core projects
- Participate in team meetings, Slack chats, and social events
Requirements:
- At least 6–18 months of Data Engineering or Software Engineering work experience
- Preferably exposure to a dynamic, startup environment
- Ability to learn quickly regardless of the languages and technologies used
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and powerful reporting tools
- Experience building backend applications, primarily working with APIs and databases
- Ability to decode complex problems with logical, well-reasoned solutions
- Candidates must be based in Canada
- Minimum 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone
- Availability to work a 40-hour work week
- Must be residing in the country where their school is located for the complete duration of the internship
- Internship must be part of an academic program or completed independently, as applicable
- Current enrollment in a school, college, or university is addressed in the application requirements
- Availability during core working hours of 9/10 am–5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility
- Unofficial grade report required with application
