Job Description
Zoetis Diagnostics Solutions Consultant selling veterinary diagnostic instruments, tests, and services across Maryland. Building customer relationships, generating sales, and supporting clinical equipment use.
Responsibilities:
- Sell Zoetis diagnostic instruments, tests, associated products, and services within an assigned US sales territory
- Build and maintain customer relationships to maximize customer retention
- Achieve budgeted sales quotas within targeted accounts
- Update and maintain sales funnel and customer profile data in the system
- Collaborate with Zoetis colleagues to achieve goals and support the diagnostics business
- Travel to offices of existing and prospective customers, targeting 3–4 existing customers and 3–4 new business opportunities per day
- Travel within the assigned territory, including extensive driving and approximately 4–8 overnight stays per month
- Document all customer and prospect interactions via the online system
- Transport, lift, set up, and demonstrate diagnostic equipment at customer locations
- Explain diagnostic products and services, answer questions, and communicate their value proposition
- Secure purchase orders
- Provide ongoing in-person, phone, and email customer support for product, technical, and service concerns
- Make courtesy calls and inform clients about new products, services, and instrumentation updates
- Interface with sales, accounting, and technical staff to address customer questions and needs
- Work cooperatively with Diagnostic Technical Specialists to strengthen customer service and product utilization
- Generate new business and leads, including placing instruments in competitor accounts, academia, and research settings
- Gather referrals from existing customers
- Support billing and collection efforts
Requirements:
- Must speak fluent English
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated sales experience, or relevant technical/clinical experience, preferably in the medical, scientific, or healthcare industry
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree; equivalent experience accepted
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Science or business emphasis preferred
- Ability to safely lift and move 60 lbs
- Expertise in veterinary terminology/science
- Demonstrated skills selling capital equipment in physician and/or veterinary clinics
- Skilled at making presentations, including financial presentations, at all levels
- Ability to transport, set up, and demonstrate equipment quickly and effectively
- Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Strong ability to multitask and work independently
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance
