Job Description

Business development director growing Tempus’ clinical-trial partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Driving revenue, enterprise sales, account growth, and research solutions for precision medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed revenue goals for the TIME product line while delivering established strategic objectives for client accounts
  • Determine how Tempus clinical trial offerings can support clients’ R&D objectives and negotiate to drive projects forward
  • Source leads, map stakeholders, and conduct outreach with Key Account Directors
  • Coordinate with Business Development, Alliance Management, Operations, and Account Teams across client stakeholder groups and Tempus’ portfolio
  • Assist with contract pull-through for assigned client accounts
  • Build relationships with R&D and commercial executives at partner organizations
  • Identify, develop, and support additional value-creation opportunities
  • Develop approaches to solve customers’ known challenges
  • Navigate enterprise sales processes and influence client stakeholders to act quickly
  • Manage existing business and identify new account-growth opportunities
  • Track strategic objectives and revenue goals; review progress with Account Teams and Tempus leadership
  • Provide client feedback to leadership to support development of the Life Sciences portfolio
  • Stay informed on the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, emerging policy developments, and client priorities
  • Travel approximately 40% of working time domestically and internationally
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of clinical development and trial recruitment principles
  • Strong knowledge of the drug development process and its stages
  • Strong understanding of clinical site operations and provider care delivery
  • Entrepreneurial sales approach in a high-growth, rapidly evolving environment
  • Proactive mindset that bridges ideas to implementable solutions
  • Deep relationships with pharmaceutical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to navigate multi-faceted client organizations successfully
  • Ability to set aggressive but realizable strategies and tactics
  • Positive, energetic, and solution-oriented approach
  • Exceptional account management and issue articulation skills
  • Ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholders to solve problems
  • Interest in oncology and cancer genomics
  • Minimum 7+ years of Business Development and Sales experience in the Life Sciences (Pharma/Biotech) sector, including CROs or other service providers, focused on clinical trial operations, patient recruitment, or site selection
  • Bachelor degree in a Science or Business discipline
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or Healthcare certification) desired
