Job Description
Director/Business Unit Leader for Response and Recovery Programs at Tidal Basin overseeing federal and state response and recovery initiatives. Leading a multidisciplinary service and client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Support MER3 vertical leadership in providing high quality, timely, and profitable delivery of the Response and Recovery (R&R) project portfolio
- Develop, influence and implement an R&R market strategy, utilizing Tidal Basin’s national teams and capabilities
- Support MER3 leadership by providing recommendations and guidance on a portfolio of projects or programs of significant size, complexity, and significant financial impact
- Help grow the R&R response, recovery, logistics, housing, and consulting practice
- Work closely and collaboratively with MER3 leadership to share resources, augment capabilities, and bring the best of Tidal Basin to every project
- Support the breadth of Tidal Basin’s R&R related projects by providing expertise and guidance
- Support MER3 leadership in identifying new staff for hiring and cross-train existing staff to deliver R&R projects, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, leadership, and ownership within the organization
- Participate in and help drive innovative workstreams to differentiate Tidal Basin and address market changes, challenges, and opportunities
- Support production of winning proposals (both technical and cost)
- Prepare and lead client presentations and interviews
- Support the refinement of existing delivery strategies to improve predictability, quality, and efficiency
- Build relationships with senior leaders at Federal, State, Local, Territorial, Tribal and commercial entities alongside company leadership
- Attract and secure new R&R clients and build the opportunity pipeline alongside State, Local, Commercial (SLC) leadership
- Provide leadership ideas internally and externally
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and mentor for R&R projects across the organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Planning, Engineering/Architecture, Environmental, Finance or related degree.
- 15 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience delivering public and individual assistance projects and programs, with particular emphasis on FEMA funded response and recovery projects, at the Federal, State, Local, Tribal or Territorial Levels
- Deep understanding of project management and consulting service models and FEMA PA, IA, and Logistics funded disaster recovery programs
- Deep experience in all facets of R&R related work including but not limited to post-disaster assessments (public facilities and infrastructure as well as housing), sheltering (mass care and non-congregate), program implementation for public and individual programs executed for federal or state clients, as well as federal grant and reimbursement programs from FEMA and others.
- Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members, staff, and client relationships.
- Experience working with federal grant-funded programs
- Excellent client relations and an understanding of local, state, and federal government.
