Job Description
EDI Director leading healthcare data integration architecture and development at Med-Metrix. Overseeing Mirth Connect, SQL, CDM, Jira, and enterprise healthcare data systems.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and prioritize the work of the EDI development team
- Ensure client timelines are understood and maintained for new development work
- Coordinate requirements, timelines, technical issues, implementation activities, and operational support with implementation and operations leads
- Participate in client calls as needed
- Oversee EDI Jira instance processes, activities, and access; validate ticket documentation and work queues
- Facilitate CDM design sessions and evaluate approaches based on EHR requirements
- Lead architecture for legacy CDM and extract changes
- Provide technical direction and design guidance for new EDI capabilities
- Maintain and promote department standards and coding practices
- Coordinate Mirth Connect renewal, upgrade planning, and cross-team implementation activities
- Mentor and cross-train EDI team members and coordinate backup coverage
- Represent the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning, backlog discussions, sprint reviews, and management status reporting
- Produce and maintain automated reporting that loads active Jira entities and accounts into Jira Assets for the Product Support Portal
- Produce quarterly Source Authority output for contractual reporting related to licensed third-party data
- Coordinate responses to ad-hoc operational data questions about imports and extracts
- Serve as technical liaison with trading partners and other organizations, including escalated or complex items
- Use, protect, and disclose PHI in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures
- Limit PHI viewing to the minimum necessary for assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; or equivalent industry experience
- 7 years of experience in Data Integrations and 3-4 years experience in Healthcare
- 2+ years leadership experience required
- Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect required
- 5+ years’ experience in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL required
- 5+ years’ experience with C#, TypeScript, JavaScript or Java required
- Software troubleshooting experience and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Demonstrable experience implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver major critical projects
- Experience with software development life cycle phases, especially functional requirements, software development, and unit testing
- Experience with software development methodologies, including Agile
- Experience providing leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a group
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with expert knowledge of Excel
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving, creative skills, sound judgment, and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes
- Familiarity with ANSI ASC X12 healthcare formats: 837P, 837I, 835, and 834
- Familiarity with HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange formats, including HL7 v2 messaging
- Experience with PowerShell or Bash/Linux shell scripting
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL
- Experience in Test Driven Development and automated unit testing
- Two years of experience working on Agile teams with experience developing Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Experience with Java and Maven
- Microsoft SQL Server certification, Mirth Certification, Azure, Elasticsearch and/or MongoDB experience are pluses
