Job Description

Director shaping Novartis’ pharmaceutical field metrics and incentive strategies. Designing performance frameworks and compensation models for evolving commercial engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead future-ready measurement frameworks for Customer Engagement and Go-to-Market success
  • Translate aggregated performance signals, including claims, prescribing, payer, and CRM insights, into strategic measurement constructs
  • Shape balanced scorecards measuring outcomes and critical enterprise behaviors
  • Advise senior leadership on performance trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Reimagine incentive compensation strategies for evolving field roles, customer archetypes, and modern engagement models
  • Steward equitable, transparent, and motivating incentive frameworks with Incentive Compensation teams
  • Evolve metrics and incentives based on market dynamics, transformation priorities, and field feedback
  • Partner with Insights and Decision Science, Finance, Field Leadership, and field enablement teams
  • Drive customer impact, growth, and long-term competitiveness across Novartis’ commercial organization
  • Travel domestically and/or internationally, with 30% travel required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from 4-year college or university
  • 10+ years’ experience in incentive design, performance management, or field operations strategy
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Deep expertise in incentive compensation strategy, customer engagement metrics, and drivers of field performance and motivation
  • Ability to design and scale innovative, data-driven models connecting enterprise insights with field execution
  • Strong fluency in healthcare systems, including payer and provider dynamics, enterprise account management, and evolving technology trends
  • Success influencing senior leaders and aligning cross-functional stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights, narratives, and action plans
  • Collaboration and communication skills across functions, geographies, and field teams

  • Desirable: experience with enterprise incentive compensation platforms and advanced analytics tools
  • Desirable: consulting or high-growth environment experience building scalable measurement and incentive constructs across global or multi-market teams
