Job Description
Director shaping global oncology patient advocacy for Immatics, a PRAME-focused cancer immunotherapy company. Embedding patient insights across clinical development, commercialization, partnerships, and access initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of Immatics’ global oncology patient advocacy strategy across discovery, development, and commercialization
- Establish global patient advocacy standards, strategic alignment, best practices, and organizational capabilities
- Partner with Clinical Development, Clinical Sciences, Medical Affairs, and HEOR/Evidence Generation teams to integrate patient perspectives into development programs
- Facilitate patient and advocacy-group input into clinical development plans, study concepts, protocol design, endpoint selection, informed consent materials, recruitment and retention strategies, and patient experience initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve study feasibility, patient experience, recruitment, retention, and diversity through patient engagement
- Support launch readiness and post-launch patient access initiatives across Authorized Treatment Centers
- Develop and execute the global patient advocacy strategy aligned with corporate and medical affairs objectives
- Lead knowledge-sharing, capability-building, and patient-centric initiatives across the organization
- Serve as global subject matter expert on patient advocacy and engagement
- Develop and maintain compliant partnerships with global patient advocacy organizations and patient communities
- Represent Immatics in external patient advocacy forums, partnerships, and initiatives
- Monitor external trends, patient needs, and advocacy landscape developments and translate insights into recommendations
- Gather, synthesize, and communicate patient insights to support organizational decision-making
- Incorporate patient perspectives into medical strategies, evidence plans, educational initiatives, and disease-area priorities
- Promote a patient-centric culture through education, communication, and capability building
- Measure and communicate the impact of patient advocacy activities on business objectives and patient outcomes
- Report to the Vice President, Medical Affairs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, healthcare, public health, social sciences, or related discipline required
- 10 years of experience in patient advocacy, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry, clinical development, medical affairs, public health, or related fields required
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing global patient advocacy, patient engagement, or patient-centered strategies
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across regions and organizational levels
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
- Competent and confident presenting to senior leadership and engaging patients and advocates in lay terms
- Demonstrated experience incorporating patient perspectives into clinical development, study design, protocol development, patient experience initiatives, or evidence-generation activities
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
- Successful completion of background check, reference checks, and pre-employment drug screening where permitted
- Advanced degree (MPH, APRN, PharmD, or PhD) preferred
- Existing relationships with global patient advocacy organizations, patient communities, and external stakeholders preferred
