Job Description
Foundation fundraising director securing grants for Love Justice International, a Christian nonprofit fighting human trafficking. Building foundation relationships, managing proposals, and driving fundraising revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and target potential private and public foundation partners aligned with the organization's mission and objectives
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with foundation program officers, trustees, and decision-makers
- Develop compelling grant proposals tailored to foundation partners' interests and guidelines
- Collaborate with program teams to gather data, stories, and information for grant applications
- Submit grant applications on time and in compliance with all requirements
- Oversee grant administration, reporting requirements, and deadlines
- Maintain comprehensive records of grant applications, approvals, and rejections
- Coordinate with program teams to track progress and outcomes of grant-funded projects
- Serve as the primary contact for foundation partners and provide regular updates on grant impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and deliver promised programs and projects
- Develop and manage an annual budget for foundation fundraising initiatives
- Partner with the E.D. to set and achieve fundraising targets and organizational financial goals
- Report to the VP of Advancement
- Likely involve travel
Requirements:
- Mature Christian faith and agreement with the Global Value to “Abide in Christ”
- Knowledge, understanding, and agreement with how the Christian Gospel ministers to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40)
- Agreement with the Core Value “Be the Kingdom” in mission execution and personal conduct
- Acknowledgment of the Statement of Faith
- Passion for justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field
- Proven track record of successful foundation fundraising and relationship-building
- 7–10 years preferred experience
- Strong understanding of the grant-making process and foundation landscape
- Excellent written and verbal communication and grant writing skills
- Proficiency in relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with grant management software and databases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Willingness and aptitude to learn to use AI tools to improve work and owned processes; existing experience preferred
