Job Description
Leading platform security strategy and engineering for Pax8’s cloud technology marketplace. Building secure cloud-native development, tooling, metrics, and high-performing security teams.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute a comprehensive platform security vision aligned with business objectives and risk management priorities
- Define long-term security roadmaps supporting product innovation and scalable growth
- Champion security as an accelerator rather than a blocker
- Own the security posture of cloud-native platforms, services, data, and infrastructure
- Improve security architecture, controls, and operational resilience
- Evaluate emerging technologies and adopt practices that improve security effectiveness
- Integrate security practices throughout software delivery processes
- Guide engineering teams through secure design, threat assessment, testing, validation, and deployment
- Ensure secure coding principles and security standards are consistently applied
- Partner with professional services and engineering teams on secure software development and maintenance
- Establish repeatable security frameworks for internal and customer-facing solutions
- Develop security metrics, reporting frameworks, and executive dashboards
- Use data-driven insights to assess risk, improve controls, and demonstrate program effectiveness
- Provide leadership during security incidents and emerging threats
- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation, learning, and readiness
- Recruit, mentor, and empower security and engineering professionals
- Foster collaboration, accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and a high-performing culture
- Develop future leaders and enable secure innovation across Pax8's technology ecosystem
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise leading platform, application, or product security programs within complex technology environments
- Extensive experience embedding security practices into modern software delivery and engineering workflows
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, secure development methodologies, and DevOps operating models
- Proven capability implementing and optimizing security tooling across application, infrastructure, and cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of threat modeling, vulnerability management, security testing, and secure software engineering principles
- Experience leveraging security analytics, operational metrics, and risk-based decision-making to drive improvements
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences alike
- Collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment while balancing strategic vision with operational execution
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Valid right to work in United States
- Successful completion of pre-employment checks, including ID verification, reference requests and qualification checks
