Job Description
Director overseeing end-to-end billing, collections, and payment settlements for 8am’s professional services fintech platform. Scaling revenue operations, teams, systems, controls, and cash-flow performance.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end billing, invoicing, collections, and payment settlement across subscription and transaction-based revenue
- Reconcile payment transactions and merchant settlements
- Lead operational oversight of SaaS/subscription and payments-based revenue
- Partner with the Accounting Manager on ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Build a collections strategy to reduce aged receivables and improve recovery rates
- Select and improve billing, collections, and payment tools including Stripe, Workday, Salesforce, TSYS, and Zuora
- Build documented processes that reduce manual work and error risk
- Hire, mentor, and develop managers and specialists across billing, collections, and payment operations
- Set team KPIs and service-level goals
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Risk on billing, collections, and payments
- Represent Order to Cash in pricing and product decisions
- Maintain internal controls across billing, collections, and settlements
- Support audit and compliance work with the Assistant Controller
- Champion AI adoption to accelerate close and reconciliation, reduce manual work, and improve forecasting
Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive experience leading billing, collections, payment operations, or revenue operations, ideally in fintech, payments, or SaaS
- Experience building and leading teams, including managing other people managers
- Track record of owning and improving end-to-end operational processes at scale
- Revenue accounting exposure (ASC 606) across both SaaS/subscription revenue and payments/transaction-based revenue is strongly preferred
- Experience with payment processing, card networks, ACH, and payment processors like Stripe, TSYS, or Adyen
- Comfort with ERP, billing, and CRM systems such as Workday, Zuora, or Salesforce
- Strong analytical skills
- Advanced Excel
- Hands-on experience using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to automate and improve workflows
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
- CPA is a plus
