Job Description

Regulatory change director advancing compliance initiatives for CrossCountry Mortgage, a nationwide distributed retail mortgage lender. Translating regulatory assessments into system, process, control, and documentation improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Own medium-to-large regulatory and compliance change tickets from intake through closure documentation
  • Translate Legal and business needs into business, technology, and procedural requirements
  • Partner with Legal to determine system, process, control, policy, and procedure updates
  • Draft detailed requirements for configuration, decisioning, workflow, fields, and technology enhancements
  • Work with Technology teams, business partners, and external vendors to implement compliance-related system changes
  • Design and document non-technology solutions, process updates, control enhancements, and policy or procedure changes
  • Lead compliance workstreams by coordinating deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder responsibilities
  • Research regulatory requirements, controls, operational processes, and current-state workflows
  • Plan, coordinate, and support validation and testing activities
  • Review testing results, investigate gaps, and drive follow-up actions
  • Prepare project summaries, status updates, and dashboards for leadership and governance meetings
  • Maintain documentation of decisions, requirements, testing evidence, approvals, and implementation outcomes
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process, system, and documentation improvements
  • Facilitate implementation meetings and communicate with Legal, Operations, Technology, Risk, leadership, and other stakeholders
  • Provide informal guidance to analysts and coordinators
  • Support continuous improvement of the Regulatory and Compliance Change Management program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in compliance management, regulatory change, or compliance-related business analysis and technology change
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices
  • Experience in mortgage operations, preferably front-end mortgage operations
  • Practical understanding of how regulatory requirements affect real-world workflows
  • Experience with Encompass Loan Origination Software or similar loan origination systems preferred
  • Experience developing, coordinating, or evaluating validation and testing activities
  • Ability to translate regulatory guidance, investor requirements, or internal policy expectations into system behavior, business requirements, process updates, and documentation changes
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and develop practical, defensible recommendations
  • Ability to document work thoroughly for auditors, examiners, and internal reviewers
