Job Description
Kyndryl cloud consulting director designing AWS-led multi-cloud solutions for enterprise and US Federal clients. Leading pre-sales pursuits, executive advisory, and technical architecture teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures focused on AWS modernization frameworks, reference patterns, and secure landing zones
- Create differentiated technical solutions across infrastructure, platform automation, containers, and managed services
- Evaluate technical risks, establish mitigation plans, and ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery standards
- Embed platform engineering, infrastructure as code automation, and FinOps cost optimization into solution architectures
- Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and line-of-business executives
- Lead architectural workshops, deep-dive reviews, and competitive solution defense sessions
- Guide cloud solution strategy for US Federal and government opportunities
- Lead direct face-to-face customer engagements, typically guiding one to three major pursuits simultaneously
- Partner with Go-To-Market leaders and sales executives to qualify pursuits and safeguard margin integrity
- Direct RFP and RFI responses, including technical narratives, solution scopes, and deliverable commitments
- Develop cost cases, financial models, and Total Contract Value estimates
- Support contract negotiations and deal structuring through signing and handoff to delivery teams
- Guide matrixed pursuit teams of cloud architects, engineers, pricing specialists, and delivery consultants
- Mentor and develop technical architecture talent
- Partner with hyperscaler alliance teams and practice colleagues to build reusable architectural assets and accelerate pursuit velocity
Requirements:
- 15+ years of IT, cloud, infrastructure, or technology consulting experience
- 10+ years leading complex solution design and pre-sales architecture pursuits
- Experience developing multi-disciplinary cloud solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, hybrid cloud, private cloud, VMware, managed services, and cloud migration initiatives
- Pre-sales technical solutioning experience within US Federal or government contracts and public sector regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting large-scale strategic client pursuits with direct executive and C-suite customer engagements
- Experience leading matrixed pursuit teams of architects, consultants, engineers, pricing analysts, and delivery leaders
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud platform architecture, migration acceleration, and modernized workload patterns
- Deep expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, enterprise landing zones, cloud governance, cloud security, disaster recovery, resilience, and high-availability design
- Deep expertise in Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud orchestration
- Deep expertise in FinOps methodologies and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Deep expertise in Cloud Security Posture Management, Identity and Access Management, data protection, encryption, and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Strong background in RFP and RFI response leadership, deal shaping, business case development, financial modeling, and Total Contract Value estimation
- Experience evaluating solution risks, establishing mitigation plans, and supporting commercial contract negotiations through signature
- Experience mentoring and developing technical solution architects and engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Applicants may need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination when working at a client, customer, or partner location
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, and ITIL Foundation or higher certifications
- Preferred: experience with FedRAMP compliance, public sector procurement gates, and government security boundaries
- Preferred: experience delivering bids valued at $10M+ in Total Contract Value
- Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration, Technology Management, or a related discipline
