Job Description

District Manager leading Gap Inc. retail stores across Rhode Island. Coaching General Managers, driving merchandising execution, customer experience, operational excellence, and profitable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a portfolio of stores and coach General Managers to deliver optimal customer and employee experiences
  • Drive operational excellence, merchandising execution, productivity, and profitable sales and earnings growth
  • Ensure consistent high performance across stores, measured through P&L and other reports
  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain teams to meet short- and long-term business goals
  • Monitor performance and follow up to ensure results are delivered
  • Develop individual and team capabilities through expectations, conversations, recognition, and accountability
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment
  • Analyze product performance and create district merchandising plans using data, strategy, and seasonality
  • Lead effective store visits focused on behaviors that drive business results
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative approaches to achieve goals
  • Identify and solve problems with sustainable solutions
  • Monitor the external market and competition
  • Ensure stores comply with Gap Inc. policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, execute based upon direction, and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to build merchandising capability and coach to sustain merchant strength in stores
  • Demonstrated ability to build diverse, high-performing teams within an inclusive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience via all channels
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace challenges, take risks, learn quickly, and enable change
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed expectations and use improvements or learnings to surpass existing goals
  • College degree preferred
  • 3+ years of multi-unit, high-volume, complex business leadership preferred
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel overnight and/or between stores as required
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs
