Job Description
Driver Recruiter training and recruiting CDL drivers for Charger Logistics, a North American transport provider. Ensuring safety, compliance, driver welfare, and transportation staffing needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment process for drivers and maintain a pool of prospective candidates.
- Source, recruit, screen, and interview experienced driver candidates through cold calling, email, databases, and Internet recruiting resources.
- Cultivate a positive culture, quality performance, safe environment, and professional driver experience.
- Maintain knowledge of local labor markets, processes, and policies relating to drivers.
- Understand licenses and documentation required when hiring CDL drivers from different U.S. states, including OTR, local, and regional drivers.
- Assist qualified candidates with employment applications and ensure required paperwork is submitted.
- Manage driver hours to minimize overtime while maintaining customer service and delivery metrics.
- Conduct background checks, perform road tests, and provide required driver training.
- Ensure compliance with company, client, OSHA, and Department of Transportation regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct, review, and document facility safety inspections and assist in correcting deficiencies.
- Investigate vehicle accidents and employee injuries; prepare and submit related reports.
- Develop local accident and injury prevention plans and programs.
- Schedule and present training and orientation programs; conduct monthly employee and driver safety meetings.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years in safety & training (transportation industry preferred)
- Previous experience in driver training, recruitment and safety & compliance is an asset.
- Experience hiring drivers out of different states within the US is a must.
- Safety driven with expertise in HOS, DOT regulations, and driver welfare
- At least three years of truck driving experience is considered an asset.
- Must have solid understanding of the trucking industry.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
