Job Description
Engineering Manager leading hands-on cloud SaaS engineering teams at DoiT, a multicloud technology company. Owning delivery, architecture, hiring, team growth, and AI-augmented engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers, owning delivery and professional development
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes, delivery, technical quality, and team growth
- Develop engineers through 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and direct feedback
- Develop tech leads, future engineering managers, and staff-level individual contributors
- Write and review code and guide architectural and technical design decisions
- Uphold engineering standards through pull-request reviews and a healthy release process
- Lead AI-augmented engineering practices while maintaining quality standards
- Own team commitments, planning, prioritization, roadmap execution, and delivery quality
- Partner with the Technical Product Owner and Product team on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs
- Align engineering work with broader business objectives and adapt staffing and priorities as needed
- Own hiring, interviewing, recruiting, coaching, and performance decisions for the team
- Mentor engineering-manager peers and raise the management bench
- Communicate context and escalations to leadership
- Empower senior engineers and coach team members
- Collaborate with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other teams
Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles with active coding responsibilities
- Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products and running production services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience owning availability, cost, and customer-facing product surfaces
- API-first product mindset supporting both human and agent interactions
- Strong background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery
- Track record of measurably transforming an engineering team through delivery velocity, technical quality, or team caliber improvements
- Deep technical fluency in the team's primary stack; able to read, write, and review code at a senior level
- Clear philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making
- Excellent judgment under pressure and accountability for outcomes
- Direct, candid communication skills
