Job Description
Engineering Manager leading hands-on cloud SaaS engineering teams at DoiT, a global cloud technology company. Driving architecture, delivery, hiring, team growth, and AI-augmented engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers, owning delivery and development
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes, delivery, technical quality, and growth
- Support team members’ professional well-being and career development through 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and feedback
- Develop future technical and engineering leaders
- Write and review code and contribute to technical decisions
- Drive architectural and technical design decisions with senior individual contributors
- Uphold engineering standards through pull-request reviews and a healthy release process
- Lead an AI-augmented engineering team and apply AI tools judiciously
- Own team commitments, planning, prioritization, roadmap, sequencing, and delivery quality
- Partner with Technical Product Owner and Product team on scope, tradeoffs, and roadmap direction
- Align engineering work with broader business objectives
- Re-plan, re-prioritize, and re-staff as business needs change
- Own hiring, interviewing, recruiting, coaching, and performance decisions for the team
- Mentor other engineering managers and strengthen the management bench
- Communicate context and escalations to leadership
- Empower senior engineers and coach team members
- Collaborate with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and other teams
Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 4+ years in engineering management roles with active coding responsibilities
- Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products
- Production experience running services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience owning availability, cost, and customer-facing product surfaces
- API-first product development mindset
- Strong background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery
- Track record of measurably transforming an engineering team
- Deep technical fluency in the team’s primary stack, including senior-level code reading, writing, and review
- Clear philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making
- Excellent judgment under pressure and accountability for outcomes
- Direct, candid communication skills
