Job Description
Engineering Manager leading Testlio’s crowdsourced software testing platform. Driving agentic workflows, platform modernization, and technical delivery across distributed EMEA teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team responsible for Testlio's core platform capabilities used to plan, run, and manage testing
- Own technical direction and delivery for core platform domains
- Lead the design and delivery of agentic workflows that plan, execute, and adapt testing work
- Spend roughly 20–30% of time on hands-on engineering, including production code, critical-path code reviews, and technical designs
- Set multi-quarter technical direction with the AI/ML team and product
- Consolidate fragmented data models and modernize legacy services and data stores
- Own roadmap sequencing and technical delivery from concept to production
- Establish planning, prioritization, and design review practices
- Own production support, triage, escalations, root-cause resolution, automation, and permanent fixes
- Define service level objectives, build performance dashboards, and lead root-cause analysis
- Ensure engineering standards, traceability, Definition of Done, defect reduction, and cloud cost control
- Coach engineers, introduce AI-assisted development workflows, and reduce knowledge silos through reviews and documentation
- Report to the Director, Engineering
Requirements:
- 5+ years managing a team of 4+ engineers in an agile, remote environment
- Recent experience writing production code and designing or evolving production systems
- Experience building LLM-powered or agentic features in production, or a strong track record of leading a team into a new technical domain quickly
- Strong affinity with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React
- Experience designing and building APIs
- Experience with observability and APM tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or Sentry
- Experience optimizing slow database transactions
- Knowledge of application security best practices and integrating security review into the SDLC
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or paying down significant technical debt while keeping a product running
- Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication
- Collaborative experience with product management and cross-functional partners in a distributed, asynchronous setting
- Organized and thorough approach to standards and process
