Job Description
Engineering Manager leading application security, cloud security, and vulnerability management at Grafana Labs. Guiding security strategy and engineering teams for a global observability platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the application security team across application security, cloud security, and internal tooling development
- Lead first- and third-party vulnerability management, including coordinated disclosure and embargoed fixes
- Define and implement engineering strategy with security leadership, individual contributors, and business stakeholders
- Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching, mentoring, and continuous feedback
- Collaborate with engineering leaders and stakeholders on product strategy, roadmaps, and designs
- Participate in significant incidents through preparation, simulation, response, and customer communications
- Contribute to and review design documents, ensure projects are development-ready, and advise on task breakdown
Requirements:
- Prior experience running a security engineering team
- Strong engineering background and ability to engage in technical conversations
- Ability to work with autonomous engineering teams
- Up-to-date understanding of technical trends and security challenges
- DevOps mindset focused on enablement, automation, and guardrails
- Familiarity with securing and operating on public cloud providers: AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Experience securing combined open-source software (OSS) and SaaS products
- Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Bonus: programming or software engineering experience
