Job Description

Engineering Manager leading teams to enhance mental healthcare technology at a remote-first organization. Overseeing technical excellence and partnering with Product and Design for operational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Managers at Rula are the primary engine for scaling our mission.
  • They are critical because they sit at the intersection of technical excellence and patient outcomes.
  • By building high-performing teams, EMs ensure that our technology remains a reliable bridge for those seeking mental healthcare.
  • Their leadership directly impacts our ability to innovate at speed, maintain a high bar for quality in a high-stakes industry, and develop the engineering talent necessary to solve the complex challenges of healthcare accessibility.
  • Ems will partner closely with Product and Design to translate strategy into working software, ensure operational excellence, and deliver measurable business impact.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience; 3+ years managing engineers.
  • Proven track record of delivering production software at scale in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical grounding in web application architecture, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
  • Proven experience building and scaling high-throughput production APIs or services.
  • Ability to stay close to code, review architecture, challenge tradeoffs, and unblock engineers without needing to be the primary coder.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and delivery velocity across multiple initiatives
  • Prior experience hiring and developing high-performing engineers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills working cross-functionally with Product & Design
