Job Description
Engineering Manager leading full-stack monetisation, payments, and escrow engineering for Pet Media Group’s global pet marketplaces. Driving delivery, technical direction, team growth, and AI-assisted development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, grow, and support a team of full-stack engineers through 1:1s, career development, hiring, and feedback
- Own delivery for the Monetisation domain, ensuring predictable, high-quality shipping against a clear roadmap
- Set technical direction with the team and guide architecture and difficult technical problems
- Partner with product to shape priorities across value-added services, payments, and escrow
- Champion AI-assisted engineering as a standard part of team development
- Own team performance, quality of delivery, people growth, and connection between engineering work and revenue outcomes
- Partner with wider engineering leadership to set priorities and clear blockers
- Build and maintain pricing, checkouts, payment processing, recurring subscriptions, product activations, experimentation/CRO, and escrow systems
Requirements:
- Experience managing and growing a team of software engineers, including people development and hiring
- Experience in payments or fintech space (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree), or with escrow / KYC / identity verification
- Strong engineering background, ideally full-stack with TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js and React
- Track record of owning delivery for a team or domain, turning strategy into a roadmap and shipping it
- Comfortable reviewing designs, guiding architecture, and making technical trade-offs
- Understanding of GraphQL and its usage in large systems with multiple consumers
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Active use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Codex in engineering work
- Point of view on team adoption of AI tools
- Working proficiency in English is required
- Bonus: experience with Grafana or other monitoring and observability tools
- Bonus: experience with experimentation / CRO
- Bonus: experience introducing or scaling AI coding workflows
- Technical knowledge of Next.js, React, Node.js, React Native, TypeScript, GitLab CI/CD, Elasticsearch, Redis, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Knex, Docker, AWS Lambda, AWS, Grafana, and Bitrise
