Job Description
Field Access Manager helping EVERSANA, a life sciences commercialization company, expand diabetes therapy access. Guiding healthcare offices through payer, reimbursement, and patient support processes.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact at designated accounts, providing account management support to healthcare professionals and their staff on behalf of patients prescribed the product
- Educate accounts about the Patient Services program, regional payer landscape, and pharmacy channel access
- Coordinate pull-through efforts for prescribed patients across HUB, specialty pharmacy, and other channels when proper HIPAA consent is secured
- Serve as the primary face of Patient Services platforms within designated healthcare professional offices
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to optimize patient access to the product
- Expand advocacy within healthcare professional offices and educate staff on access and payer approval processes
- Identify access barriers and highlight healthcare professional actions that support patient access to therapy
- Provide educational resources for prior authorizations, appeals, specialty pharmacy, and access issues
- Coordinate use of patient service platforms when offices select the HUB or specialty pharmacy pathway
- Coordinate annual pharmacy reauthorizations to support timely continuation of therapy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Strategic Accounts, and other partners
- Identify and address time-sensitive market development and implementation efforts to remove access barriers and optimize adherence
- Build and execute strategic business plans for top accounts and implement market access initiatives
- Maintain expertise in national, regional, and local payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy, and utilization management criteria
- Assess how payer, PBM, specialty pharmacy, and pharmacy formularies affect market access
- Provide field insights supporting access and patient/payer support programs
- Anticipate, navigate, and address account and patient access issues with relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; healthcare degree advantageous, including MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or similar advanced healthcare/scientific degree
- 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in payer policy and patient access
- 5+ years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior-authorization requirements or equivalent experience in patient access
- Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes, including Medicare Parts B & D
- Knowledge and understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs
- Strong understanding of specialty product access/reimbursement processes, including Patient Support Services programs
- Strong analytical skills to assess market dynamics, competitor activity, and continuous diabetes monitoring trends
- Ability to gather and interpret data to guide regional strategy, including HUB and patient claims data
- Knowledge of Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems
- Strong understanding of Microsoft applications and ability to conduct virtual engagements via Microsoft Teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of initiative and independence
- Proven success working in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to conduct impactful educational presentations
- Strong knowledge of Veeva systems
- Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology experience preferred
- Previous launch experience in an Access/Reimbursement role preferred
- Previous biopharmaceutical industry experience in product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or large healthcare practice is a plus
