Job Description

Field Sales Representative driving new business for Milacron’s injection-molding machinery and aftermarket offerings. Managing Illinois territory growth through prospecting, customer visits, and full-cycle B2B sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and win new business within a defined territory
  • Prospect for new logos, greenfield opportunities, and underpenetrated accounts through cold outreach, site visits, referrals, and networking
  • Create pipeline and progress deals with urgency and personal accountability
  • Lead value-based, outcome-focused sales conversations
  • Execute territory and account plans
  • Provide tactical feedback to Strategic Account Managers on strategic site-level accounts
  • Partner with Inside Sales Representatives to ensure aftermarket coverage and a consistent customer experience
  • Focus on machine sales and related aftermarket opportunities while leveraging ISRs for parts and transactional support
  • Prospect, qualify, and advance opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Overcome objections, navigate complex buying processes, and compete against entrenched incumbents
  • Drive deal momentum through customer engagement, clear next steps, and assertive follow-up
  • Maintain accurate opportunity management, forecasting, and activity tracking in the company CRM
  • Own territory performance with clear growth plans and measurable outcomes
  • Meet KPIs including new account acquisition, new logo revenue, pipeline velocity, activity indicators, and competitive win rate

Requirements:

  • Applicants should reside in the state of Illinois
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; or four to five years of relevant experience in technical sales, business development, or industrial manufacturing environments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an outside B2B field sales role, preferably within a technical, capital equipment, or industrial machinery sales environment
  • Experience in the plastics injection molding and/or extrusion industry is preferred
  • Ability to uncover needs, generate demand, overcome objections, negotiate, and close
  • Ability to deliver compelling customer presentations and clearly articulate Milacron’s value proposition
  • Strong understanding of Milacron injection molding machines, retrofit & rebuild, and service offerings
  • Awareness of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer buying behaviors
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% and drive frequently within the region
  • Comfort with cold calling, walking plants, and prospecting new accounts
  • Experience maintaining opportunity management, forecasting, and activity tracking within a company CRM
