Job Description
Finance Controller overseeing accounting operations, reporting, compliance, and acquisitions for a software company. Driving financial strategy, controls, and senior leadership decision support remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all finance functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Lead accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct monthly book closures, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, compliance with financial regulations, and statutory audits.
- Support financial due diligence for acquisitions and integrate new businesses.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize cash flow, cost management, and profitability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve internal controls.
- Coordinate and provide analyses supporting senior leadership decision-making.
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA certification is required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably in a software/SaaS or technology company.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
